At LaSalle College International Vancouver, we have a huge international population and the majority of those students come from Spanish speaking countries. So why did they pick LaSalle in Vancouver specifically? Here's a few of the students to tell us why... por qué Vancouver?

"The magic of the city attracted me to Vancouver - it has everything, from parks, to snow and beaches. I was looking for a city that wasn't too busy but had the aspects of a metropolitan city. It's like having a mixture of cultures within one city. My favourite thing about Vancouver is Stanley Park!"

"La magia de la ciudad es lo que me atrajo a Vancouver, tiene de todo, parques, nieve y playas. Yo quería una ciudad que tuviera los atractivos de una gran ciudad pero sin ser tan grande. Tienes una mezcla de culturas enorme en una sola ciudad. ¡Uno de mis lugares favoritos en Vancouver es Stanley Park, tienen que conocerlo!"

"I was originally going to Montreal, but I got the impression that they only spoke French and English there. Then I thought about Toronto, but it seemed too cold Vancouver was the warmest city in Canada - that simple comment was good enough to make me decide to come to Vancouver! 

Vancouver is a beautiful city - it's so clean, they recycle everything, the public transportation is good and it is secure. I was shocked when I saw people on the bus with their laptops and cellphones out in the open.

I was impressed with the transit system - the bus, the skytrain, and the seabus. I can access all of these with only one pass?? Really?? That's so high-tech and advanced!

Transportation, awesome. Security, awesome. The city is so clean - there is not a single paper on the street. And the weather... you can't get better weather anywhere in Canada."

 "Al principio iba a ir a Montreal, pero tuve la impresión de que allí solo hablaban Francés e inglés y nada más. ¡Luego pensé en Toronto pero es muy frío, y luego descubrí que Vancouver es la ciudad mas cálida de Canadá, por esa simple razón decidí venir a Vancouver!

 Vancouver es una ciudad hermosa, es muy limpia, tiene programas de reciclaje para todo, el transporte público es muy bueno y seguro. No podía creer que usaran sus lap tops y sus celulares en el bus sin ninguna preocupación! 

Me impresionó el sistema de transito que tienen aquí, el bus, el metro aéreo y el bus marítimo. ¿Puedo tener acceso a todos con el mismo boleto? ¿En serio? ¡Sí, es muy avanzado y organizado!

El transporte: increíble, la seguridad: increíble. La ciudad brilla de limpia, no hay un solo papel en la calle. ¿Y el clima?, no puedes tener mejor clima en todo Canadá."

"The first time I was here it was so cold; but when summer came, it was exactly what I wanted. I realized vancouver has two different types of weather and you can do different activities in the winter and summer. During the winter you can go snowboard in mountains, and in the summer you can go to the beach and kayak! My favourite thing about Vancouver is the weather, but I also like how everyone takes care of nature here."

"La primera vez que estuve aquí hizo tanto frío, pero el verano llegó y fue exactamente como lo esperaba. Me di cuenta que Vancouver tiene dos tipos distintos de clima, y puedes encontrar actividades para invierno y verano. ¡En el invierno puedes ir a hacer snowboard o esquiar en las montañas, y en el verano puedes ir a la playa a usar tu kayak! Lo que mas me gusta de Vancouver es su clima, pero también que todo el mundo cuida de la naturaleza"

"Me encanta viajar y ver que hay alrededor del mundo, conocer lugares y diferentes culturas. Me gusta el estilo de vida de la Costa Oeste, tiene una sensación distinta y adoro la vibra de la ciudad. Lo que mas me gusta de Vancouver es la libertad que se vive aquí, muy liberal, gente de mente abierta y respetuosa."
